Someone stuck behind a door — this one jumps the queue.

Locked inside a bathroom or bedroom — opened fast, no damage

A privacy latch that's jammed with someone behind it is not a wait-till-morning job, especially with a child or an older person in there. We open internal doors quickly and without damage. Tell us who's stuck when you call and it goes to the front of the queue.

  • Priority response when someone is shut in — say so when you call
  • Non-destructive opening of privacy latches and internal locks
  • The latch repaired or replaced afterwards so it can't happen again

What we get called out for

  • Bathroom privacy bolt jammed with someone inside
  • Child has turned a bedroom key and can't work it back
  • Older or unwell person locked in and unable to reach the latch
  • Internal door handle snapped so the latch won't release
  • Key turned in an internal door and now won't turn back
  • Sliding or bi-fold internal door locked and stuck

What's included

  • Fast, calm opening of the door with the person inside kept reassured
  • Non-destructive entry — slipping or releasing the latch, not forcing the door
  • Repair or replacement of the failed privacy latch or handle set
  • A check that the latch now releases cleanly from both sides
  • Advice on child-safe latches where a young child was the reason for the call

Questions we get asked

My child is locked in the bathroom — how fast can you come?
As fast as we can, and it goes to the front of the queue. Tell us on the call that someone is shut in, especially a child or older person, and we treat it as urgent. Keep them calm and away from the door while you wait.
Will you damage the door to get someone out?
Almost never. Internal privacy latches and bedroom locks are simple, and they open by releasing or slipping the latch with no mark on the door. Forcing is a last resort we rarely need for an internal door.
The handle snapped and now the latch won't release. Can you fix it?
Yes. We open the door first, then replace the handle set or spindle so the latch works again from both sides. That's the opening plus £61 and parts for the handle.
How much does it cost to open an internal door?
£90 to £149 for the opening, depending on the lock. Any repair to the latch or handle afterwards is £61 plus parts. You get a free quote with the figure before we set off.
